DescriptionThe Foundation’s grantmaking focuses on a broad range of causes including homeless shelters to environmental concerns and from health centers to volunteer fire and ambulance corps. The Foundation makes grants almost exclusively to Rhode Island charities or those benefitting Rhode Island residents and causes. It will match gifts from other foundations and businesses for a particular project as well as help start up projects and small organizations who are struggling. For the most part the Foundation does not give large amounts to major capital campaigns. While the Foundation considers grant applications from throughout the state, priority is given to organizations located in South County.
