The Julia Child Foundation For Gastronomy And The Culinary Arts
Category: Education
DescriptionThe Foundation was created by the television chef as a grantmaking entity to support research in culinary history, scholarships for professional culinary training and internships in food writing as well as professional development and food literacy programs. While the Foundation identifies and selects its grant recipients, it is open to learning about new opportunities. There’s a link on the Web site to send information on your organization. In addition to grantmaking, the Foundation also awards the Julia Child Award, a $50,000 award presented in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The $50,000 is given to a food-related nonprofit selected by the Award recipient. Additional information about the chef and the Foundation can be found on the Web site.
