Description

The Foundation’s mission is to advance and encourage youth education, primarily in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Foundation also supports projects that strengthen and improve the quality of life in numerous identified communities. Grants are awarded for projects that support public school education, with an emphasis on STEM fields and community service organizations in one of the Foundation’s geographic funding areas. The Foundation prefers to support projects that fund tangible needs such as equipment, capital improvements, and reusable materials that provide a long-term impact and enhance an organization’s effectiveness; those that serve a large number of people and reach a broad segment of the community as well as provide a plan for independent sustainability. Although founded as a family foundation, the Foundation expands its grantmaking to areas where Dart Container Corporation’s production facilities and sales headquarters are located. Organizations located in Corona and Lodi, Calif.; Deerfield Beach, Plant City, and Sarasota, Fla.; Augusta, Conyers, Lithonia, and Thomaston, Ga.; Twin Falls, Idaho; North Aurora, Urbana, and parts of Chicago, Ill.; Horse Cave and Owensboro, Ky.; Federalsburg, Maryland; Ingham and Eaton counties with limited grantmaking in Clinton and Jackson counties in Michigan; Quitman, Mississippi; Randleman, N.C.; Ada, Okla.; Leola and Lancaster, Penn.; Dallas and Waxahachie, Texas; and Tumwater, Washington are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
