DescriptionThe Foundation supports efforts to ensure fundamental rights and opportunities for people in need. The Foundation looks for carefully defined points where their funds can make a difference in bringing about systemic changes that cam improve lives. Grantmaking is focused on three areas: Criminal and Juvenile Justice, Health Reform, and Workers’ Rights. Criminal Justice grants support groups working to end the overincarceration of adults in the United States while also aiming to reduce racial disparities. Juvenile Justice grants support groups working to end the criminalization and reliance on incarceration of youth in the United States. The Foundation’s Workers Rights grants supports policy and system reforms to improve the lives of low-wage working people in the United States, with a focus on securing their basic legal rights to safe, healthy, and fair conditions at work. The Foundation has a two-step application process that includes both a letter of inquiry and a full proposal (which is invited after a review of the letter of inquiry).
