Tufts Health Plan Foundation
The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the health insurer Company. The Foundation is accepting letters of inquiry from nonprofits for projects that champion communities as they improve the quality of life for all citizens across the human lifespan. Of particular interest are policy/advocacy projects in the areas of built environment, transportation, housing, social and civic participation and inclusion, employment, communication and information, and community support and health services. Funded projects must be collaborative and involve participants from all community areas. Priority is given to policy and advocacy activities that move communities closer to achieving age-friendly status. Grants are awarded in two areas: Community and Civic Engagement and Access to Programs and Services. Community and Civic Engagement grants address or support issues/actions that lead to changes in the communities they serve. Activities can include convening diverse stakeholders, planning, and engaging in policy activities that can lead to healthy communities and age-friendly cities. Access to Programs and Services grants focus on improved access to such things as transportation, housing, food access, by all members of a community, including older adults. Doing so will lead to a better quality of life for all. Nonprofits in Massachusetts and Rhode Island are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
