Description

The Foundation’s 2017 Transformation Award is an annual program that provides unrestricted awards to women and trans artists living in the Delaware Valley region who create art for social change and who have done so for at least five years. The unrestricted award is open to women and trans people working in any art form. In addition to having created art for social change for the past five years, eligible artists are those who have financial need and limited or no access to other financial resources and have lived for the past two years or more in the Delaware Valley region of Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania. The Foundation defines “trans people” as an umbrella term encompassing transsexual, transgender, genderqueer, Two Spirit people, and more generally anyone whose gender identity or gender expression is non-conforming and/or different from their gender assigned at birth. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
