DescriptionThe Organization’s Equine Fund provides grants to U.S. nonprofit equine welfare organizations and other animal welfare organizations that care for horses, mules, donkeys, and ponies in alignment with its efforts to protect all equines. The Fund grants program supports equine organizations that strive to achieve best practices in both nonprofit management and equine care. Priority is given to organizations whose focus and expertise are concentrated on reducing the suffering of equines that have lost their homes or been cruelly treated. Grants are awarded in the following areas: Anti-Cruelty Seizures (award range: $4,000 to $15,000); Field Investigations and Response Partner Assistance (award range: to be determined), and Emergency/Disaster Support (award range: $500 to $5,000). Equine rescues and sanctuaries must care for at least 10 equine concurrently to be considered for funding. The Organization does not offer grants in starting an equine rescue or sanctuary, education programs, veterinary services for individual animal(s), relocation, or therapeutic riding programs.
