Description

The Foundation awards grants to individuals and organizations who have an exceptional talent for helping young people feel fully alive through rhythm, as expressed in music and dance. The Foundation awards grants of up to $10,000 to nonprofit music and dance organizations in Washington and Oregon for ongoing skill building; activities that engage children under the age of 18; that involve experts working and playing with non-experts; that work toward synchrony, inclusion and working toward overcoming barriers related to race and class; those that build community, link diverse groups, and create a ripple effect. Also of interest are those that involve mentors, create foot-stomping public performances in a party-like atmosphere and engender flat out joy. The Foundation awards grants to individuals, organizations, and for special projects. The deadline is for the submission of letters of intent for organizational grants.
