Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the insurance Company. The Foundation’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and invest in major capital projects that strengthen the community. The Foundation provides funding in three focus areas: basic needs, adult self-sufficiency, and at-risk youth. Basic needs grants support affordable housing, community health, food, emergency shelter, and homelessness prevention. Adult self-sufficiency grants address domestic violence, financial education, and literacy and language as well as parenting classes and workforce development. At-risk youth grants support programs and projects that address abuse and neglect, college and career preparation, mentoring, out-of-school programs, and teen parenting. Priority is given to organizations that have outcome measures in place and that can adequately show the impact of their direct service program within the grant application. All grants support organizations in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Iowa metropolitan area. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
