Description

The Fund supports organizations that are making valuable contributions in the following fields: democracy and civil liberties, education and literacy, environment, health and recreation, Jewish community, reproductive health and rights, and San Francisco Bay Area institutions and projects. Democracy and civil liberties grants seek to ensure informed, active, and equal citizen participation in the democratic process and protect civil liberties from emerging threats. Grants are awarded nationally in this category. Education and literacy grants look to strengthen public education for grades kindergarten through 12. Here, grants are awarded in San Francisco. Environmental grants address the environmental aspects of producing, consuming, and disposing of goods and are awarded nationally as well as in the San Francisco Bay area and Northern California. Health and recreation grants work to promote healthy lifestyles and opportunities and are awarded to San Francisco-based organizations. Jewish community grants look, to build a more vibrant and inclusive Jewish community as well as combat anti-Semitism and discrimination against Israel. In this category, grants are awarded both in the San Francisco Bay area and nationally and internationally with a preference for projects that impact the San Francisco Bay area. Reproductive health and rights grants look to increase access to abortion services and ensure clinic security and are awarded nationally and in Northern California. Additional details about each grant making program and how to submit a letter of inquiry are available on the Web site.
