American Honda Foundation

Description

The Foundation’s mission is to help meet the needs of American society in the areas of youth and scientific education. The Foundation defines youth as pre-natal through 21 years of age. Scientific education encompasses both the physical and live sciences, mathematics, and environmental sciences. The Foundation’s grantmaking reflects the basic tenets, beliefs, and philosophies of the car companies, which are characterized by the following qualities: imaginative, creative, youthful, forward-thinking, scientific, humanistic, and innovative. Grants are made to programs with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects in addition to the environment, job training, and literacy. The Foundation accepts applications three times a year. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
