National Wildlife Refuge Friends Group

Category: Environment

The Group builds critical community support for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Wildlife Refuge System. Grantmaking is earmarked for projects that assist organizations in being effective co-stewards of natural resources within the National Wildlife Refuge System. Of interest are creative and innovative proposals that seek to increase the number and effectiveness of organizations interested in assisting the refuge system. Start-up grants will be provided to assist in starting refuge Friends organizations. Capacity building grants will strengthen the capacity of existing refuge Friends organizations and help them be more effective. Project specific grants will support a specific project.
