Liz Claiborne And Art Ortenberg Foundation
Category: Environment
DescriptionThe Foundation’s monies are earmarked for projects and programs devoted to the conservation of nature and the amelioration of human distress. Of particular interest are programs that seek to redress the breakdown in the processes linking nature and humanity. Funding is awarded for species extinction, habitat destruction and fragmentation, resource depletion, and resource waste projects. The Foundation favors solutions, which directly benefit local communities and serve as “exemplars” for saving species and wildlands. Much of the funding is aimed toward developing countries.
