The Samar Fund

DescriptionThe Fund, at the Vermont Community Foundation, accepts applications for projects or organizations that serve the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community or support HIV/AIDS services or prevention at the grassroots level. Non-LGBTQ-identified organizations are encouraged to seek support for projects that directly serve Vermont’s LGBTQ community. The Fund is interested in projects that serve youth, elders, or transgender Vermonters as well as rural areas outside of Chittenden County; address basic human needs in the LGBTQ community; increase community safety and reduce violence against LGBTQ individuals in all forms; and enhance youth development and leadership skills.
