Description

The Foundation is committed to building a stronger community for residents of the Washington DC area. It awards grants in the following areas: arts and humanities, community services, education, health, and the environment. Arts and humanities grants fund art service organizations; arts education; performing, visual, and creative arts, and museums and humanities organizations. Community services grant topics include adoption services, affordable housing, faith and religion, legal services, volunteerism, and family support services. Education grants fund adult education and GED programs, English as a second language programs, literacy and life skills training, parent engagement, and special education. Health and environment grants fund topics including public health, nutrition, mental health, environmental education, environmental conservation and stewardship, and domestic violence.
