The Society’s annual Buffett Award for Leadership in African Conservation honors the unsung heroes of conservation, celebrating the recipients’ achievements and supporting ongoing work in conserving nature or culture in Africa. The award winners have demonstrated outstanding leadership in managing and protecting the natural resources in their countries and regions. They also serve as role models and mentors. There are two awards presented each year, one in Africa and one in Latin America. The award is given in conjunction with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, (one of the sons of Warren Buffett). Additional information including nomination instructions can be found on the Web site.
