Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation
The Foundation helps nonprofits and local government organizations to purchase and install renewable energy technologies, including photovoltaic panels, solar thermal systems, wind turbines, and biomass systems. The Foundation also works with colleges and universities, as well as K-12 schools and teachers around the state to help educate and train Illinois’ next generation about the benefits and potential of renewable energy. Grants are awarded in the following core program areas: improving energy efficiency, developing renewable energy resources, and preserving and enhancing natural areas and wildlife habitats throughout the state. Through the Foundation’s Natural Areas program, grants are awarded to protect and preserve important natural areas and wildlife habitat across Illinois as well as to acquire and protect land. Nonprofit organizations and government agencies are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
