Description

The Alliance, a group of 185 outdoor businesses that seek to protect threatened wild places in North America for their habitat and recreational value, recognizes its responsibility to help protect the wild lands and waterways on which their customers recreate and wildlife thrives. Grants are awarded to projects that seek to secure permanent and quantifiable protection of a specific wild land or waterway. Priority is given to landscape-scale projects that have a clear benefit for habitat and engage grassroots citizen action in support of the conservation effort. Also of interest are those that have a clear recreational benefit and that will have a good chance of final success within four years. Before applying for funding, an organization must be nominated by one of the Alliance’s member companies. Potential applicants are urged to review the funding criteria before approaching an Alliance member for a nomination. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
