DescriptionThe Foundation supports the company’s commitment to enhance the health and well-being of individuals in communities that the insurance Company serves. Its objective is to make strategic charitable choices to target preventable health concerns to create a healthier generation of Americans. Grants target five areas: cardiac mortality, cancer prevention and smoking cessation, maternal and newborn health, diabetes prevention and management, and childhood and elderly obesity. Nonprofits in community communities are eligible to apply. Anthem serves communities in 24 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
