DescriptionAs the philanthropic arm of the National Hockey League franchise, the Foundation assists charitable organizations that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children throughout New England. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking toward organizations that meet the standards of its mission, concentrating on academics, athletics, community outreach, and health. The Academic category supports programs that provide homework assistance and a safe learning environment for children to help them develop social and learning skills. This category targets pre-school, elementary, and middle school children. Athletic category focuses on nonprofit youth sports organizations. The Health category supports research, healthcare, and prevention issues.
