Cs Fund And Warsh-mott Legacy

Category

: Environment

Description

The Fund and the Legacy are private family foundations dedicated to supporting progressive social change in the areas of rights and governance, emerging technologies, and food sovereignty. The Fund was created in 1981 by Maryanne Mott and Herman Warsh, who together endowed the Warsh-Mott Legacy in 1985. The CS Fund and Warsh-Mott Legacy are private family foundations that share common program areas, staff, and boards of directors. Proposals to the two foundations are considered collectively and grants are made by both entities. The two Foundations have previously – although not currently – awarded grants in the areas of genetic diversity, biotechnology, toxics, environment, health, children’s environmental health, peace, dissent, civil liberties, and economic globalization. The Foundations are currently in the process of reducing their grantmaking so their ability to entertain new proposals is limited during this time. Because both groups consider grant proposals collectively, it is not necessary to apply to each entity separately. Letters of inquiry are accepted throughout the year. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
