DescriptionThe Organization is a major charity based in the United Kingdom which strives to create a just world, free from poverty. The Organization raises money during two fund-raising campaigns and spends it to tackle the root causes of poverty, inequality, and social injustice. Grants are made to United Kingdom-based organizations whose projects address one of five themes: better futures, healthier finances, safer lives, stronger communities, and fairer societies. The Organization awards two types of grants: small grants of up to $15,000 and larger grants that further existing projects. Most of the grants are targeted toward projects located in sub-Saharan Africa. Funding for work outside of Africa is by invitation only.
