American Hospitals And Schools Abroad
Category: International
DescriptionThe funding Program, a part of USAID, provides assistance to schools, libraries, and medical centers outside the United States that swerve as study and demonstration centers for American ideas and practices. USAID is the lead U.S. Government agency that works to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential. The Program’s grants help these institutions train future leaders in a wide variety of disciplines, support local and regional infrastructure to foster development, and cultivate positive relationships and mutual understanding among citizens of the United States and other nations. Since its inception in 1947, the Program has assisted more than 250 institutions in over 70 countries. It makes 30 to 40 new awards each year. Additional information including specific details on how to submit an application can be found on the Web site.
