Fund For Southern Communities

Description

The Fund is a public foundation that supports and unites organizations and donors working to create just and sustainable communities that are free of oppression and that embrace and celebrate all people. Through grantmaking and related activities, the Fund fosters social change initiated by community-based groups in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Fund supports small community groups working for environmental justice, anti racism, women’s rights, youth development, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer rights, worker’s rights, civil rights, and disability rights as well as other various issues that address social change through community organizing. The Fund provides grants of $1,000 to $5,000 to progressive grassroots groups in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Grants support new or existing projects as well as the general operating needs of small organizations with budgets of $150,000 or less. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
