Description

The Foundation, a component fund of the Hawaii Community Foundation, is accepting applications for projects designed to increase nonprofits’ capacity to deliver quality services for foster children and their families in Hawaii. Grants will be awarded to support projects that address a range of capacity-building efforts, including governance and leadership, strategic relationships, evaluation and impact, resource development, international operations and management, program design and evaluation, executive and key staff transitions, and staff training. Hawaii nonprofits and religious organizations are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a majority of the organization’s or its program’s clientele or project beneficiaries in the foster custody of a Hawaii state government agency. Children placed by a Hawaii state government agency in therapeutic foster placement or in kinship, foster, respite, guardianship, permanent custody, or adoptive families; caregivers of foster children; and youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who have aged out of the state child welfare or mental health systems are also eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
