Description

The Foundation is a Jewish family foundation that makes grants to nonprofits committed to developing a more just, caring, ecological, and resilient world. The Foundation seeks people and organizations that combine idealism, dedication, and genuine concern with rigorous analysis and strategic plans that foster a sense of social connection, mutual recognition, and solidarity. The Foundation targets its grants on the following topics: environment, social, and Jewish/Israel. Environmental grants are awarded for protection of ecosystems and biodiversity and fossil fuel resistance and alternative energy, just to name a few. Social grants support efforts to promote a more democratic, equitable, just, and rewarding society, world peace, alternative media, and violence prevention and response as well as other areas. Jewish/Israel grants support Jewish culture, religion, and spirituality; Yiddish; and building Jewish community in the diaspora among others. Applicants are asked to send a letter of inquiry; full proposals are by invitation only. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
