Description

The Foundation’s Arts and Culture Program is offering a new grant opportunity for organizations integrating arts and culture into specific community revitalization work. Through the program’s Harvesting Leading Practices focus area, the Foundation supports efforts that deepen, capture, and share knowledge from established creative placemaking work in disinvested communities. Through this program, the Foundation hopes to raise awareness of creative placemaking, provide examples of excellence, advance knowledge of processes and results, identify obstacles and tolls that can help others pursuing this work and better understand the role for philanthropy. Through 2014, the Foundation expects to award up to 15 grants for activities in traditionally disinvested communities that integrate arts and culture in two areas: public green and civic spaces and transit-oriented development projects. The Foundation has a two-step application process that begins with an inquiry submitted through its online application system. Proposals will be accepted on an ongoing basis through 2014. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
