Philip Henman Trust

Category

: International

Description

The Trust was created from the estate of Henman who parlayed two reconditioned army barges on the Thames River into a public multi-national transport company. The Trust offers grants to major United Kingdom-based charities concerned with overseas development. Projects must start no more than six months before the beginning of funding and run for no longer than five years. The Trust’s contribution must cover between 20 and 80 percent of the total project budget. The project must provide a lasting beneficial impact for the people, communities, or environment it seeks to help. And the project must be partly funded by other sources. The Trust commits to two new long-term projects annually. Requests must be sent by e-mail. The Trust has no phone or address because all of the staff are volunteers. Some additional information is available on the Web site.
