Category: Education
DescriptionThe Organization’s After School Advantage Program is a national community investment program providing nonprofit community agencies and public schools with state-of-the-art computer labs. The computer centers are designed to provide inner-city children aged 5 to 15 with a meaningful, yet fun, learning experience during the critical after-school hours, in a safe environment. The initiative is meant to provide an otherwise unavailable educational experience and bridge the digital divide among at-risk children. These programs have been implemented in states where GTECH is located nationwide including states where the Company is the online lottery services provider. Recipient states include Rhode Island, Texas, Georgia, California, Kentucky, New York, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota. In addition, the programs are also operating in Colombia, Canada, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago. The Company’s employees will work with each agency to design and develop a fully operational computer center. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
