Description

The mission of the philanthropic arm of the sports Association is to make grants that support programs for at-risk youth and people with disabilities. Through the integration of tennis and education, the programs should be designed to improve health, build character, and strive for academic excellence. Program examples include those that promote academic achievement through homework assistance, tutoring, reading clubs, and computer literacy. Also of interest are peer and professional mentoring programs; healthy nutrition and physical fitness programs; life skills programs focusing on character and social development, and college prep courses. Support is also provided for tennis programs that contain a life-skills component for people with disabilities. There are no age restrictions for the disability grants. Nonprofits that are USTA members are eligible to apply. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
