Joke Waller-hunter Initiative

Category

: International

Description

Named for a Dutch UN official and one of the most influential people in the world of international environmental action, the Initiative creates opportunities for young people in the environmental sector in developing countries to unfold their full potential. The Initiative aims to strengthen environmental Civil Society Organizations, especially in developing countries, through small grants to individuals to expand their knowledge, experience, and training. Young people (generally those under the age of 35) who work or are affiliated with environmental Civil Society Organizations in developing countries and emerging economies who have shown potential for and interest in further developing their leadership are eligible for nomination. Environmental CSOs and nominators working in these organizations identify suitable candidates within their organizations or networks and, either by themselves or in collaboration with the candidate, fill in the nomination form. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
