Fields Pond Foundation
Category: Regional
DescriptionThe Foundation supports community-based nature and land conservation organizations that serve to increase environmental awareness by involving local residents in conservation issues. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking this way because it believes that the conservation of special places in the environment is a desirable end in itself. It’s also a means of building public support for future land and river conservation by increasing the direct connection between individuals and their environment, and fostering active participation in the work of conservation. Priority is given to land acquisition for conservation and project grants for trailmaking and other enhancement of public access to lands, rivers, and coastlines. Grantmaking is limited to organizations in New England and New York State. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
