Description

In response to Hurricane Sandy, the Network has activated its Rapid Response Fund to help nonprofits meet the immediate and long-term needs of people with disabilities in the Northeast affected by the hurricane. The Fund will offer mini-grants to nonprofits to meet specific needs which include, but are not limited to transportation, shelter, medication, medical equipment, and assistive technology. Initially, grants from the Fund will focus on immediate needs of the targeted population. The Network expects that future awards will be made to address long-term needs as well. Grants will continue to be awarded until all funds are exhausted. The average amount of any one grant is $5,000. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
