Description

The Foundation strives to support and facilitate the work of Los Angeles County’s best nonprofit organizations recognizing that many of those in need today will go on to shape the future of Southern California, to define it, redefine it, and help it set and achieve new goals. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on four broad areas: social impact, civic and cultural programs, health, and higher education. Social impact grants support programs focused on providing services to traditionally underserved and disadvantaged populations including children, families, and the elderly. Higher education grantmaking seeks to improve the quality of college and university level education in Los Angeles County. Health grantmaking looks for opportunities to enhance access to care for the disadvantaged, and provide funding for improvements at Los Angeles area health care facilities. Civic and cultural grants recognize that all people should have access to cultural experiences. Prospective applicants are asked to send a letter of inquiry before sending a proposal. Letters of inquiry are accepted throughout the year. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
