Description

The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the railroad Company. The Foundation has structured its giving guidelines around the following areas: personal safety education, community safety, and environment. Personal safety grants support nonprofit and school programs that educate children and their parents on personal safety, help keep children safe on the Internet, teach railroad safety to children, teens, and adults, and provide safe havens that keep children and adults safe from abuse. Community safety grants target safety, disaster, high-alert, and hazardous materials training, equipment requirements of first responders, and projects and activities that keep communities safe. Environmental grants support programs that protect the air, land, and water resources in the communities in which the railroad operates, preserve natural resources, and teach environmental stewardship to children and adults. Organizations is Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC are eligible to apply.
