Description

The Foundation, created by several partners responsible for developing Nevada’s Burning Man festival, funds highly interactive, community-driven works of art that prioritize community involvement in their development, execution, and display. The Foundation supports art that is accessible to the public, civic in scope, and prompts the viewer to act. It awards grants to individual artists, artist collectives, or organizations. Grants can be applied toward the creation of interactive artworks or toward the development of community programs or organizations that support the creation of interactive artworks. The Foundation does not fund any art destined for the annual Burning Man event. Additional information, including an online letter of inquiry that has a deadline, can be found on the Web site. There is a $5 fee to submit the letter of inquiry to the online application service that the Foundation uses.
