The Conservation Alliance

Category

: Environment

Description

The Alliance is a group of 180 outdoor businesses that support efforts to protect specific wild places for their habitat and recreation value. Funded by the businesses’ collective annual membership dues, the Alliance’s mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. Since its inception in 1989, the Alliance has contributed more than $10 million to grassroots conservation groups throughout North America. Potential programs should focus primarily on direct action to specific threatened wild places and waterways. The Alliance is not looking for mainstream education or scientific research projects, but for active campaigns. Before applying for funding, the organization must first be nominated by one of the Alliance’s member companies, which can be found, along with other information, on the Web site.
