Description

The Foundation was established in 2002 by Robert P. Thome to honor the memory of his parents. The Foundation is committed to providing for the dignified treatment of older adults and supporting medical research on diseases and disorders affecting them. Dignified treatment grants are focused on organizations in Maryland and Michigan that provide direct services addressing one or more of the following critical issues facing older adults: health care, housing, family services, neighborhood involvement, workforce opportunities, and aging with dignity at home. Under this category, grant requests for general operating support and program support will be considered. Medical research grants are administered by The Medical Foundation, a division of HRiA. For this category, proposals will be considered from individuals who hold a faculty appointment at a nonprofit academic, medical, or research institution in the United States or US territories. The deadline is for the medical research grant program. Direct services grants for older adults are awarded on a rolling basis. Some additional information can be found on the Web site.
