Animal Welfare Trust
Category: Animals & Wildlife
DescriptionThe Trust, founded in 2001, is devoted to promoting the well being of the animal community. Among the Trust’s guiding values is the belief that animals have rights to experience a life of respect, free from unnecessary suffering. The Trust achieves its objectives two ways: a grant program and establishing its own projects either alone or in partnership with other organizations. The Trust’s grant program seeks to assist organizations whose work can help alleviate animal suffering and/or raise public consciousness toward giving animals the respect they need and deserve. Priority is given to well-defined projects with clear goals and objectives. Topics of preference are farm animal welfare, vegetarianism, and humane education. The Trust does not fund local animal rescue/shelter and spay/neuter programs or wildlife management and conservation projects. Capital projects will not be considered. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
