Safeway Foundation
Category: General
DescriptionThe Foundation supports nonprofits whose mission is aligned with its four priority areas: hunger relief, education, health and human services, and assisting people with disabilities. Preference is given to projects that will invest the grants directly in the community. Requests for national grants are evaluated based on the Organization’s efficiency; if the program fits with the Foundation’s funding priorities; and if the program’s effects directly impact the community. The Foundation also supports requests localized in a single city or state and those supported by a corporate employee. Corporate employee grants are typically localized to the San Francisco Bay area. The online application system triages the requests and sends them to the appropriate parties. National grant applications are typically reviewed quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Additional information including an online application can be found on the Web site.
