Description

The Foundation’s mission is to support the development of Hampden County (MA) children, you, and families, by insuring they have the opportunities and supports needed to achieve their full potential. Priority is given to programs that strengthen the capacity of individuals, families, and organizations in the county through strengthening the quality of education for children and youth, and ensuring the well-being of at-risk children, youth, and families. The Foundation has two proactive grantmaking initiatives: early childhood and education K-12. In addition, the Foundation has awarded grants to hundreds of nonprofit arts, cultural, health, human service, and educational organizations in Hampden County. Funds can be secured for start-up projects, capital campaigns, ongoing organizational needs, emergency needs, and multi-year priorities. The Foundation will entertain proposals from outside of the county if the project or program will directly or indirectly impact Hampden County citizens. The trustees meet quarterly in March, June, September, and December. The deadline is for the letter of intent. Some additional information can be found on the Web site.
