Description

The Foundation supports environmental organizations in the Western U.S. that are dedicated to preserving and improving the environment, the advancement of medical science, and other important social needs. Environmental organizations generally have as their primary emphasis forestry, fisheries, and sustainable use of natural resources in western North America. The Foundation normally does not fund local or regional environmental organizations outside the western U.S. Scientific and medical organizations supported by the Foundation generally place their emphasis on the endocrine system and, in particular, diabetes and its complications. The Board meets in early January, June, and October of each year to review invited proposals. In order for a proposal to be considered at a particular meeting, an initial letter of inquiry should be initiated about three months prior to the meeting date. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
