Description

The Art Works program of NEA encourages and supports four outcomes: creation, engagement, learning, and livability. Creation is defined as creating art that meets the highest standards of excellence. Engagement is defined as public engagement with diverse and excellent art. Learning involves lifelong learning through the arts. Livability is seen as strengthening communities through the arts. Funded activities under the Art Works program are divided into two areas: community-based projects and school-based projects. The deadline is for school-based projects. School-based projects must be directly connected to the school curriculum and instructional program. Activities may take place in or outside of the school building at any time of the day, including after-school and summer enrichment programs formally connected to school curricula. The activities are for children and youth, generally between ages 5 and 18 that demonstrate increased knowledge and skills in the arts. Additional information can be found on the NEA Web site.
