DescriptionThe Fund’s mission is to play a leading role in advancing women’s rights by making grants that support and strengthens women’s groups around the world. The Fund mobilizes and redistributes resources that enable women to develop creative solutions to local, regional, and transnational challenges. It brings grantees and donors together in an international network that promotes women’s action for social change, equality, peace, and justice worldwide. Grants are awarded to five geographic areas and six themes. Geographic areas are: Sub-Saharan Africa, The Americas, Asia and Oceania, Europe and Central Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa. The six themes are: advancing health and sexual and reproductive rights; building peace and ending gender-based violence; ensuring economic and environmental justice; expanding civic and political participation; access to education; and fostering social change philanthropy. The Fund awards general support grants, travel grants, and organizing meeting/event grants. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
