Impact Fund

DescriptionThe Fund seeks to enhance the ability of lawyers to bring public interest litigation in the areas of civil and human rights, poverty law, and environmental justice. The Fund gives preference to litigation that will potentially benefit a large number of people; lead to significant law reform; or raise public consciousness. The Fund also offers innovative technical support, training, and expertise on issues that arise in large-scale impact litigation. Grants averaging $5,000 to $15,000 are made to private attorneys, small legal firms, and nonprofit legal entities that do not have sufficient access to funding sources. The maximum grant awarded to any single applicant per year is $25,000. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
