New York State Health Foundation

Category

: Regional

Description

The Foundation has a broad mission to improve the health of New York State residents. Most of its grantmaking is focused on three priority areas: expanding health insurance coverage; improving the management and prevention of diabetes; and encouraging the integration of substance use and mental health services. Its 2012 Special Projects Fund is reserved for projects that address important health care or public health issues consistent with the Foundation’s mission but outside of its priority areas. The Fund’s awards replace what were previously known as special opportunities grants. Priority will be given to initiatives that have a large-scale statewide or region-wide impact on the healthcare system. Additional information including an online inquiry form, which must first be submitted prior to completing an application, can be found on the Web site. Earlier applicants have a higher probability of receiving funding than those who apply closer to the deadline receive.
