Description

The Foundation was established following the death of William T. Kemper, the former president, chairman, and director of the former First National Bank of Independence (Missouri). It concentrates its grantmaking on four broad areas: education, human services, civic improvements, and the arts. Education grants provide program and capital support for both public and private academic institutions. Health and human services grants support medical and social services agencies, including those that serve the disadvantaged and disabled individuals, youth, and the elderly. Civic improvement grants support projects that enhance the vitality of the community through civic beautification and those that strengthen community assets. Arts funding supports art institutions and activities. Grantmaking is targeted to programs and projects located in Missouri, Kansas, and western Illinois. Application guidelines are available from the Foundation. Potential applicants should contact the Foundation prior to submitting their proposal. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
