DescriptionThe Foundation makes grants in the United States and abroad. Support is given in the following program areas: educational opportunity, health, and human rights and social justice. Education grants seek to improve the educational opportunities and outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable youth. Preference is given to initiatives in New York City and Baltimore. Health grants are awarded to programs and projects that help underserved populations gain access to quality health care and improve health outcomes. Preference is given to programs in Baltimore and New York City, and those that are particularly responsive to the needs of women, children, and vulnerable youth. The goal of the human rights and social justice grants is to advance fundamental human rights both in the United States and abroad. The Foundation meets independently three or four times a year to consider proposals. Letters of intent and proposals are accepted on a rolling basis.
