DescriptionThe Foundation exists to help people of the developing world in their endeavors to solve some of their problems, to attain a better standard of living, and to obtain a reasonable degree of self-sufficiency. The Foundation funds only projects of nonprofit philanthropies based in the United States. The Foundation does not set geographical boundaries for its grants except that it gives priority to needs outside of the United States. Grants are made in five areas: agriculture, health, education, social development, and environment. To be considered for funding for the current year, proposals should be received no later than mid-May of that year. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
