Description

The Foundation seeks a fair and just society that ensures true opportunity for all. Its mission is to increase access to opportunities that improve the chances for success and quality of life for those who are most impacted by economic, social, and political injustice. The Fund helps women become economically self-sufficient; promotes early care and education; strengthens justice, equality, and opportunity; and supports the Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art. The Fund invests in systems change to eliminate barriers for people today and create opportunity for future generations. Because beneficial change often requires long-term investment, the Fund often provides multi-year general operating support, reflecting the Fund’s commitment to administrative efficiency and flexibility. The Fund helps to build organizational capacity by establishing close, long-term relationships with its grantees and encouraging comprehensive planning and program development. The Fund believes it’s necessary to take risks and think creatively to effectively address community needs. It’s open to unique and unanticipated ideas and projects that fulfill the Fund’s mission. And the Fund believes that sharing knowledge and best practices is an effective way to maximize the grantees’ potential impacts. While the Fund has no geographical restrictions on eligibility for funding, it primarily makes grants in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region. Letters of inquiry are required; no unsolicited proposals will be acknowledged. Additional information can be found on the Web site.
